A READING
The following reading was inspired by a piece I was given for a
wedding. When we came right down to it, the bridal couple decided
that neither one of them wanted to read out loud, so I rewrote it as
something that I, or a guest, could read. It was very well received
and I have included it here for your consideration.
BE LOVED
Be loved -- not only for what you are, but for what you are when you
are together.
Be loved -- not only for what you have made of yourself, but what
you
are making of each other.
Be loved -- for that part of each of you that has remained hidden
without the other.
Be loved -- because you encourage goodness in each other and
bring
each other far more happiness than either one could find alone.
Love each other for knowing the foolish and frivolous parts of your
souls, and for seeing the possibilities for good in each other that no
one else had looked quite deep enough to find.
Because you love, you give each other faith in yourselves, comfort in
yourselves and a deeper sense of self than you have ever known.
Be loved.
